 CASTLE Ashby's Saturday Grendon sweep fell to Bob Reed with 44-12, carp and bream, ahead of Richard Skeen 29-8 and Frank

Pizmenti 25-4. Mick Wheeler won the Scotland pond midweeker with 30 skimmers for 21-2 as Mick Hewlett had 17-8 and Roger Clutton 12-12.

 PAUL HARDMAN topped Castle Ashby's Saturday do on the Brickyard with 29-12 of bream as Chris Garrett netted 25-8 and

Frank Pizmenti 22-14. Steve Bull had his turn, Sunday on Grendon, with 26-9 followed by Richard Dunkley 24-8 and John Kent 22-6.

The midweeker, also on Grendon, had gone to Nigel Baxter with 29-12 as Gary Millward had 24-2 and Phil Wintle 19-6.

 FISHERY boss "Grandpa' Mick Hewlett won Saturday's Castle Ashby Grendon sweep with a five-carp 44-6. Chris Garrett had 13-12

and Bob Reed 13-9. Pete Lovell won midweek on the Brickyard, 34-2 of bream, with Nigel Baxter 11-4 and Alan West 9-6.

CASTLE Ashby's Scotland pond midweeker – before freezing winds depressed both sport and spirits – went to Mick Hewlett with 16 bream for 44-4, ahead of Bob Read 21-6 and Frank Pizmenti 13-7.

Keith Garrett won with 12-7 on the Brickyard, Saturday, followed by Richard Skeen 3-6 and Reed 2-7.

Next day Steve Bull topped on Grendon with 22-6, with Reed 15-13 and Chris Garrett 11-7.

With 'Ashby's matches all on Grendon this week, Grant Howie won Sunday with 24-4. Mick Waddham had 16-2 and Ian Drage 14-2.

Richard Skeen won, Saturday, with 10-12 ahead of Bob Reed 8-4 and Mick Hewlett 3-8. Wednesday saw Pete Lovell top 24-2 with Richard Skeen 19-12 and Hewlett 16-4.

NEVER mind the turkey and plum duff – Castle Ashby's regulars kept

turning up for matches throughout the festive break.

Grant Howie won a midweeker on Grendon with 15-12 of silvers

followed by Pete Lovell 13-8 and Nigel Baxter 13lb.

Fast Forward to Christmas Eve on the same lake and it was

Richard Dunkley's turn to go top with two carp and two bream for 24-12

as Bob Reed had 21-8 and Richard Skeen 19-12.

ON Scotland pond, Christmas Day saw Mick Whadham win with 16-4,

followed by Skeen 13-4 and Mick Hewlett 11-12 before proceedings

were adjourned to a local hostelry.

Next day it was Skeen on top with 13 bream and a carp for 37-8.

Paul Hardman had 13-4 and Hewlett 12lb.

CASTLE Ashby sport went downhill during the week in line with the deteriorating weather.

Nigel Baxter won Wednesday with 17 bream for 39-12 ahead of Grant Howie 16-10 and Mick Hewlett 16-4.

Saturday on the Brickyard Pete Lovell had 16-4, Joe Roberts 9-7 and Paul Hardman 7-6. Back on Grendon next day Ian Pretty won with 25-6 followed by Mick Waddenham 22-4 and Mick Wheeler 18lb.

Same venue, Monday, Roger Clutton bagged 19-6 of bream, Ian Smith 9-14 and Howie 8-14.

SPORT may have been rubbish for many Sunday – but Pete Lovell was in a world of his own with almost a 'ton' of Castle Ashby carp.

He had a runaway win with 11 chunky carp on feeder for 98lb on the venue's Grendon lake, way ahead of Bob Reed 68-4 and Mick Rogers 49-6.

Elsewhere on the complex it was a totally different story as Gerald Green won on Scotland with just 11-14, followed by Grant Howie 9-7 and Keith Bishop 9-4, while on Brickyard Rod Chamberlin caught 11-14 to lead Nick Cowap 9-12

and Lee Marlow 7-14.

On Grendon the previous day Jeff Jones had headed the pack with 49-12 of bream and carp as Lovell made 38-4 and Ian Hutton 28-2 – following a midweeker which went to Nigel Baxton 25-10 with Mick Hewlett 17-12 and Gary Millward 14-10.

BREAM dominated Castle Ashby's Grendon midweeker as Mick Waddham had 22-12, Grant Howie 20-8 and Alan West 18-8.

Saturday's Brickyard sweep went to Chris Garrett 19-14 ahead of Mick Hewlett 12-4 and Keith Garrett 8-12.
